Also known in some countries as palometa, its main fishing area is located between parallels 36°S and 45°S. In the Chilean market, it is highly valued and widely consumed. Its exploitation and introduction into Chilean commerce only began in the 1990s. The fillet is characterized by a very firm texture and a delicate flavor. Each unit weighs between 1 and 1.5 kilograms.
